Protest in defence of trees beside the Inwalidów square.
On Saturday 21th of May, the first day of spring, we invite you to a happening, a performance, a picnic and a walk for salvage of the trees growing on the Inwalidów square.
We are not acceding to the clearance of trees! We are not acceding to destruction of historical remains of Cracow Tower. We are not acceding to expurgation of greenery in Cracow’s Park. We decided to organise The great sewing of colourful coats for trees, we want to mark all the trees which are at risk of being cut out, so that Cracow’s inhabitants can see with a naked eye, what they might lose.We agree that the Cracow’s Park and the Inwalidów Square needs a renewal, but it must me a wise one, with respect for the cultural heritage and the nature.
During the action Anna Baranowa, an art historian, and an indweller of the environs of the Square, will tell us about the Inwalidów Square as a precious modernist urban assumption of the interwar period. At 1PM a guide “Park of Inwalida” will take place. Mateusz Okoński will take us on a walk around the Cracow’s Park, he will talk about its former glory and about the crumbling modernist sculptures. The walk will be graced by the performance by Miho Iwaty.
